A significant and life-changing decision 25 years ago saw John enter the world of education. Various pathways eventually lead into a Sports Therapy and Psychological background. Along with his business partners John founded Deere Apprenticeships in 2011. Since then Deere has become an established provider nationally working with many multi-national companies and Government departments including the DWP.

John has expertise in strategic planning and execution. He also possesses an in-depth experience and knowledge of the design and delivery of apprenticeships
John’s interests include travel, history & non-fiction.


Claire is the Curriculum and Delivery Manager at Deere Apprenticeships; Claire has worked within the education sector for 21 years and in this time, she has extensively taught, lectured and coached Apprentices. Claire is an internal examiner responsible for quality at Deere Apprenticeships as well as being an external End-Point Assessment Examiner. Claire is also the lead for Information, Advice and Guidance at Deere Apprenticeships.

Claire gained her PhD in Educational Leadership in 2018 and became Doctor of Education specialising in Leadership and Management within the Further and Higher Education Sector. Claire has a master’s degree in Coaching and Mentoring and a Master’s Degree in Research, Education and Social Science. Further to this Claire has two Post-Graduate Degrees, a BA (Hons) Degree, and numerous teaching qualifications.

Claire enjoys reading academic articles and writing for publication, since the publication of her PhD Claire has co-written with her Apprentices and is co-writing a guidance book for PhD students with colleagues from two Universities. Claire is currently designing resources and materials for learners and tutors at Deere Apprenticeships.

When not working Claire likes to relax by recreationally ice skating and by watching her son represent the UK in figure skating and Ice dance competitions.


Tyla joined Deere Apprenticeships in November 2016 as a business administration apprentice and is a product of our own internal apprenticeship scheme. She has developed the skills and experience along the way resulting in her recent temporary promotion into this position.

Tyla fully understands the Deere ethos she is a loyal hardworking individual who has developed her skills accordingly. Having worked under some experienced managers previous Tyla now feels she has the skills and competence to operate at this level.

Tyla enjoys playing golf in her spare time she is a member of nearby Rufford Golf club and plays off a respectable handicap.
