We were delighted to attend this year’s NW Hearts Charity fundraising event. The charity does important work and relies on the generosity of others to help improve heart health outcomes across Greater Manchester.
One of our excellent Deere Apprenticeships tutors, Aruna Birch MBB, volunteered at the event to support one of her learners associated with the charity.
Aruna cares deeply for her learners and is determined to see them succeed. This commitment extends beyond the classroom. She made the journey to Manchester to support the event and helped the charity raise over £1,000 through the raffle.
Cristina Tanner, Partnerships Manager at NW Hearts Charity and one of Aruna’s leadership and management learners, said:
“The Excellence in Heart Care Celebration is a very important event in the charity calendar. We hosted 150 guests comprising medical and business professionals from all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester.
As a small charity we certainly make a big impact. However, we couldn’t do it without the generosity and support of others. So when Aruna offered her support on the night in a volunteering capacity I was thrilled.
Not only is Aruna a wonderful tutor and mentor during my studies, she is also a warm, compassionate and generous person in general. I feel very fortunate to have Aruna’s support inside and outside of the classroom.”
We thank Cristina for her kind words and are delighted to have had the opportunity to support her in her learning journey and the NW Hearts Charity’s important fundraising initiative.
